Ka’Niya is smart, outgoing, bossy, and funny—a little girl with a big personality. Just her presence brings joy to the people she is with. She loves to sing and dance every day. When she is not singing and dancing, she loves to watch music videos.
Ka’Niya’s mom, Ky’Andra, says her daughter is very, very strong—and faces her diagnosis of sickle cell with bravery. “We never know when a pain crisis will come on—and it’s hard to comfort her because holding her hurts. But she keeps going and that gives me strength,” says her mom.
Ky’Andra sees a bright future for her daughter. “Whatever she wants to do, she doesn’t let her disease—or anything—stop her.”
