Sam was featured in the very first LOOK! event when he was six years old. Today, he is a funny, loving and very observant twelve-year-old boy. He cares about others, and he can connect with peers. He loves to laugh and make others smile. He wants to be part of the activity around him even when he is nervous about the expectations of him.
Sam’s favorite activities include swimming, playing with friends, digging in the dirt and being with family. His friends at school are his role models. Recess is his favorite time, but this year he showed much interest in science. Sam has a diagnosis of fragile X syndrome, autism and ADHD.
Robin offers encouragement to parents: “Never give up on anyone. Miracles happen every day and if you use your voice to educate others about the world of disability and advocate for your child, you are helping more than just your child. The world has a lot to learn about people who are different.”
