Eugene is a smart, funny, happy child who loves to learn and to have fun. He enjoys listening to music, jumping on his trampoline, and swinging. He is a little boy who is filled with happiness, resilience, and determination.
Eugene’s journey began when he was born at twenty-three weeks. During his three and a half month NICU stay, he underwent eight surgeries. Eugene has been diagnosed with hydrocephalus, epilepsy, and autism. His family is very proud of Eugene’s accomplishments, especially walking and communicating. Eugene started walking completely on his own at four years old. He will start Kindergarten in the fall!
Eugene can learn and do so many things even if his learning style may be different from others. His family says he has helped make them closer, stronger, more resourceful, and open to new perspectives. They believe it is important for society to be inclusive of all children—including those whose disabilities may not be visible!
