Joe loves to go to church and help at the altar. He also enjoys playing golf, being a part of the neighborhood swim team, and the young adult activities hosted by his local Down syndrome group. Participating in these events has also given his family the opportunity to make lasting relationships with other families.
Joe is a senior in high school. He likes to draw and enjoys art class. His role model is his dad, and he wants to be like him. His mom, Nea, describes Joe as a kind, gentle, loving, and caring young man who does not meet a stranger.
Family Connection of South Carolina provides services and resources to families who have a child with a disability or specialized healthcare need. Since 1990 we have served more than 100,000 families and today our services are needed more than ever. We focus on parent-to-parent support, guidance with navigating the complex healthcare system, and assistance with school meetings and special education plans.
