Jaylen Evans is always authentically and unapologetically himself. This is the trait that inspires his family the most.
“He will make a way for what he wants to do,” says his mom, Marissa. “Sometimes, his way is better than ours. He teaches us.”
Jaylen has never let his diagnosis of cerebral palsy, epilepsy and autism stop him from doing what he wants to do and achieving his goals. He plays baseball and consistently receives the A Honor Roll at his school.
“I would say our proud parent moments are being able to see him accomplish things they said he wouldn’t do,” Marissa says.
Jaylen loves anything that goes fast or has a motor—amusement park rides,
cars, motorcycles, and racetracks. Above anything else, Jaylen loves his dad and playing video games with him. His family is quick to say how thankful they are for Jaylen and how much he inspires them daily.
Jaylen’s mom says, “Because of him, we have patience, understanding, and we know the true meaning of love.”
