A girl who knows how to have a good time, Ana Sofia loves to have fun. She is quick to smile, laugh and never holds a grudge. She thinks silly sounds are delightful and never hesitates to laugh at a good noise. She is very good at communicating what she likes and dislikes. She can be mischievous at times but is never mean or unkind.
Ana Sofia is diagnosed with cerebral palsy and the CASK gene mutation. Her mom, Tessa, feels that Ana Sofia is like most 7-year-old kids and as a family, they enjoy the same things as other families with young kids. Watching Ana Sofia become more mobile and more independent over the last few years has been an incredible source of joy for her family.
One of Ana Sofia’s favorite things is water. If there is any sort of water nearby, she will find it and splash in it. Even a water bottle can be a source of fascination, as Ana Sofia would be happy as a clam to have it poured out so she could play in it.
“The biggest thing I want everyone to know about Ana Sofia is that she is a complex, multidimensional person just like every other person on this planet,” Ana Sofia’s mom, Tessa says. “She has likes and dislikes, good days and bad days, successes and failures, and hopes and dreams, just like everyone else. She has a rich inner world, and she will gladly share a glimpse of it if someone takes the time to get to know her.”
