Patience, love, and family are all pieces of the puzzle that make up Theo’s life. Although Theo can be seen running wild and exploring nature and different animals, he also enjoys settling down with a book or puzzle. At just three years old, he knows his ABCs, and he can solve 75-piece puzzles within minutes.
When Theo was approximately 18 months old, his parents realized he was not completing his developmental milestones. After he turned two, he was diagnosed with autism. Fortunately, Theo’s school was able to give his family resources to help Theo and put him on a path to success. There are still days when it is difficult for Theo to regulate emotions or participate in social situations or family gatherings, but it is a reminder to practice patience. Through all of this, Theo continues to push through barriers which have not stopped him from quickly learning new skills.
Theo brings joy to his family in ways they could’ve never imagined. He shows love through the many hugs and kisses he gives to his parents. In the words of his mom, Fatima, “His diagnosis does not determine his intelligence. He will do so much in his lifetime”. His parents believe Theo will be a scientist when he grows up!
