Happy Holidays! |
Since 1990, Family Connection has been serving families of children with disabilities and chronic health conditions. We have served more than 100,000 families and today the need is greater than ever.
We have been the Parent Training and Information Center for South Carolina since 2015. Our staff are highly trained professionals who are parents themselves, and will provide information, support, education and referrals to meet the individualized needs of the family. Our staff is ready to help parents navigate the stages of their child’s journey and help them chart a true course for success.
Changing lives by making connections, raising awareness and promoting inclusion for those with disabilities and special healthcare needs.
Family Connection of South Carolina strives to empower the families and individuals we serve with education, support, and resources to achieve their full potential.
Our work is guided and informed by our beliefs and commitments to:
Community
When families are connected to a community of supports, resources, and other families, the individuals in their care have the best chance to thrive.
Advocacy
The education, training, and peer to peer support we provide assists families and individuals in strengthening their advocacy skills.
We respect and promote inclusion of all individuals, realizing we can learn from each other and our differences make us stronger.
We collaborate with local, state, and federal organizations, professionals, and families to identify and provide the best support and resources for those we serve.
We acknowledge that each family is the expert of their lived culture and heritage. We commit to growing along with our families, allowing them to guide, while gathering the tools and resources that will benefit them along the way.
We honor the fundamental value and dignity of all individuals. We pledge ourselves to creating and maintaining an environment that respects diverse traditions, heritages, and experiences.
We stand for equity and justice, advancing systemic change, and denouncing racism, intolerance, and exclusion.
